Research and Education

Through our research projects, we explore the issues affecting cycling in Greece, and help develop constructive dialog with the state and the wider public, to find practical, effective solutions.

Our educational programs aim to inform the public about the benefits of using the bicycle as an alternative means of transportation in the modern city. We organize workshops tailored to different groups (children, young people or adults) that give practical advice for safe and fun cycling.

If you would like to work with us on a research or training programme, please get in touch: info@citiesforcycling.gr

CARE

Cities for Cycling is the lead partner of the CARE project (Community-based Active-cycling and Recreation for the Elderly), a European Erasmus+ project that promotes cycling as a means of gentle exercise and social interaction for older people. It includes partners across Greece, Poland, and Bulgaria, and brings together municipalities, NGOs and local communities to make cycling accessible and enjoyable for older adults.

Learn About the Bicycle

“Learn About the Bicycle” is an educational program for children, designed by our organization. It provides information about the bicycle and its use, informs about the rules of the Road Traffic Code concerning the bicycle, and advises on the safe and fun use of the bicycle. Its aim is to inspire children to consider it as an alternative means of transport, but also an option for a more active lifestyle. The program has been presented in more than 100 schools throughout Greece.
